[When it comes to the absolutely bizarre state of Genesis over the network Euri knows there are only a few people who would understand what's going on, and out of them Ai is the most empathetic. Zexion probably doesn't want to deal with the tornado that is her emotions and after exploding during that meeting with Genesis, Reno and Angeal the thought of contacting Angeal has left her feeling rather self-conscious.

Freaking out in front of Ai seems like the least embarrassing option.]

Ai? What the fuck is wrong with Genesis? Why is he acting like...

[Like he's all messed up on re-education and going against every damn thing he told her when he moved out of the mansion. She can't hide the disgust in her tone when she finishes her question.]

[ There might be a bit of water sounds in the background; he's still sulking in the hot tub. His voice comes out quiet, tired. ]

He's on something, obviously. I'd guess an aphrodisiac, maybe something else too? I'm not sure. He didn't seem to be doing it against his will though.

[It being against his will would almost make this easier, as awful as it sounds. It's much harder to try and reconcile what she saw with the strong, capable person he built himself up as.]

No, I didn't know anything. But I don't... I really don't think he'd react the way he did to me talking to him if he weren't willing?

[ There's a splash of water, him shifting around out of frustration.]

He was really ashamed to deal with me... so I really think it was just a way of driving the message home. But I don't know. I guess I'll have to wait until I can ask him to know for sure.

But you know... I don't know him that well, aside from how he's treated me. Someone who knows both of them contacted me right away, and she didn't think it was unwilling. She thought that it was because of how their world is.

[And here it is, the floodgates opening. A reasonable person would understand that relying on someone else this much isn't good, that putting a person on a pedestal is harmful.

But all Euri can think about are all the things Genesis has told her, about being strong.]

This is why he left the mansion! It's why he moved in with Zexion! He didn't want this anymore! Was he just lying??

[She's already sounding shaky and sniffly, because if he lied about that who knows what other things he's lied about?]

[Thinking it hurts, but saying it out loud makes it feel like raw nerves are getting pummeled over and over. She isn't just ranting, either; she thinks the worst part of it is that it may very well be true.]

If he's willing to throw his beliefs away....

[Then she can't call him strong. She can't trust him to be strong.]

I'll find out what I can from him when he's sobered up, but maybe you should tell him you feel this way yourself. He at least deserves to know, even if he only proves you right.
